Tourist arrival in Maldives.
Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated that the Maldives will reach a milestone with the arrival of 100,000th tourists since the border opening.

The Maldives reopened its borders to international passengers on 15th July, after nearly four months since the state halted issuing on-arrival visas on 27th March. Since the border reopening, the government has set a goal to reach 100,000 total tourist arrivals to the Maldives from the border opening on 15th July. The Ministry of Tourism has aimed to reach 500,000 tourists by the end of the year, as the total number of arrivals for the year 2020.

In this regard, Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom has stated that on the morning of 12.12. 2020 we shall celebrate the arrival of 100,000th tourists since we reopened our borders.



Following the border reopening on 15th July, the Maldives has seen an increase in tourist arrivals from day today. The Tourism Ministry has stated that from 1st January to 09th November, a total of 477,390 tourists have arrived in the Maldives. As per the statistics, from 15th July to 09th December 2020, a total of 94,543 tourists have arrived in the Maldives.
