On Saturday, Ukraine International Airlines began charter operations to the Maldives.

The commencement of charter operations marks the second charter operation that commenced flights to the Maldives from Ukraine along with Azur Air from Ukraine, which also commenced its operations on December 26.



The Maldives reopened its borders to international passengers on July 15, after nearly four months since the state halted issuing on-arrival visas. Since the border reopening, Maldives has reached 525,057 tourist arrivals for the year 2020.

Following the border reopening, the Maldives has seen an increase in tourist arrivals from day today. As per the statistics, from July 15 to December 23, a total of 142,210 tourists have arrived in the Maldives.

As per the records, Ukraine is the 8th most tourist arrival market to the Maldives since the border reopening with 4,181 tourists as of December 23.
