Parliament member of Naifaru constituency, Ahmed Shiyam, has raised concerns over withheld information about the man, who was arrested for terrorism.
MP Shiyam has said that it is concerning not knowing any details of the foreigner, who got arrested for terrorism.
“This is concerning. Why is the government, Maldives National Defence Force, and Maldives Police Service not sharing any details?. We should learn lessons from the incident that occurred in neighboring Sri Lanka,” said Shiyam in a tweet.
Meanwhile, some media has reported that the name of the person who was arrested is Raj Prashant.
The 28-year-old Indian man was arrested, on December 29, as an alleged terrorist from the Airport. The man has been detained for 05 days from the criminal court for further investigation. The Criminal Court has decided to keep him arrested to avoid him running away. Court has requested Maldives Police Service to present proof and evidence.
In regards to the case, many have raised their concerns.
