For the first time, a contestant from Maldives will compete in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant. Maryam Shaina Naseem, a 21-year-old model, is set to make history by representing Maldives on this global stage.

Maryam Shaina Naseem is no stranger to the world of modeling and pageantry. She previously won the Top Model Maldives title in 2022, and last year, she showcased her talent on an international level at the Top Model of the World competition held in Egypt. Her experience and dedication have paved the way for this momentous opportunity to represent her home country in the 73rd edition of Miss Universe.

The final round of the Miss Universe pageant will take place on November 16 in Mexico City, bringing together contestants from 130 countries. Shaina is the 108th contestant to join this year’s lineup.

In preparation for the pageant, the Embassy of Mexico in India facilitated a visa for Shaina, ensuring her participation. The embassy shared a congratulatory message, expressing their support and wishing her success in the competition.

This historic entry into Miss Universe allows Maldives to shine on a global platform, showcasing the nation’s unique culture, talent, and spirit. Shaina’s participation reflects the growing visibility of Maldivian talent in international arenas.

Despite the significance of this milestone, no official announcement has been made by authorities or organizations in Maldives, leaving the local audience without formal acknowledgment of the event.
