The Chinese government has donated 80 computers and 20 laptops to the Maldives to support the country’s digital infrastructure. An agreement marking the handover was signed between the Maldives’ Foreign Ministry and the Chinese Embassy at a ceremony held today in Malé.

The signing ceremony featured Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, who signed on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Chinese Ambassador Wang Lixin represented the Chinese government.

In his remarks, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel highlighted that China’s donation would significantly enhance the Maldives’ technical capabilities and support the government’s efforts to expand digital services nationwide. He expressed his gratitude to China for its commitment to aiding the Maldives in its journey toward greater digital accessibility.



This donation reflects China’s continued partnership with the Maldives in the field of technology and development, further reinforcing bilateral relations between the two nations.
