The Budget Committee of Parliament has approved the government’s proposed 2025 budget of MVR 56.6 billion without significant amendments, imposing conditions for detailed project disclosures.
The committee passed the budget today with 19 votes in favor. While no major changes were made, the committee recommended that the government provide Parliament with detailed timelines for projects, including those set to commence, those yet to be signed, and those slated for completion in the coming year.
