The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Maldives, Her Excellency Wang Lixin, paid a farewell call on Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Monday at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, Vice President Latheef commended Ambassador Wang for her dedication to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations. He expressed gratitude for her contributions during her tenure and acknowledged the continuous support provided by the Chinese Government to the Maldives.

Ambassador Wang, in turn, expressed her appreciation for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and his administration's support and guidance. She praised the Maldivian Government for its resilience, notable achievements, and positive developments over the past year.

The meeting included a reflection on the robust growth of bilateral ties, with both parties highlighting successful collaborations in areas such as education, higher education, infrastructure development, agriculture, and tourism.

The farewell call concluded with both the Vice President and Ambassador Wang expressing confidence in further strengthening the partnership between the Maldives and China in the years to come.
