The Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, officially presented his Letter of Credence to Chinese President Xi Jinping in a formal ceremony held today at the Great Hall of the People.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Fazeel extended greetings and best wishes on behalf of Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Xi and the people of China.
President Xi warmly welcomed Ambassador Fazeel and congratulated him on his appointment, emphasizing the enduring ties between the two nations.
His spouse, Ms. Aminath Fareesha, was accompanying the Ambassador at the event.
Maldives and China have a longstanding relationship, establishing diplomatic ties on October 14, 1972. Dr. Fazeel Najeeb is the fifth Maldivian Ambassador to serve in China, continuing the efforts to enhance the partnership between the two countries.
