Home Minister Ali Ihusan is set to be questioned in parliament over allegations that he signed fraudulent forms to add members to the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PNC).
The motion to summon the minister was submitted by South Galolhu MP Meekail Naseem, who alleged that the Department of National Registration (DNR), which falls under the Home Ministry, was misused to enroll individuals into the PNC without their consent.
Meekail also raised concerns over whether any action had been taken against ministry officials accused of signing invalid forms and questioned what measures would be implemented to further safeguard citizens' personal information.
Among those reportedly added to the PNC through fake forms is MDP’s Vaikaradhoo MP Hussain Ziyad. The issue has sparked widespread concerns over data protection and electoral integrity, with opposition lawmakers demanding accountability.
