The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has announced the official introduction of the new MVR 100 note, now in use.
The updated notes feature the Dhivehi Rufiyaa symbol on both sides, appearing alongside the face value at the top left corner of both the front and back.
The notes also include enhanced security features, such as serial numbers and face values that illuminate under ultraviolet light but remain invisible under ordinary light.
The MMA highlighted additional updates, including the signature of former Governor Ali Hashim, with a printing date of July 7, 2024.
The new MVR 100 notes were introduced into circulation starting January 19, providing a modernized design and improved security for the currency.
