Following detection of Covid-19, AA. Mathiveri island is placed under monitoring status.
Confirming the monitoring status in Mathiveri, the Health Protection Authority (HPA) has restricted traveling in and out of the island as well. The island is placed under monitoring after two children tested positive to Covid-19 today.
As per the information received, the two children who tested positive today are grandchildren of the couple who tested positive to Covid-19 on January 21, from Mathiveri island.
Following the positive cases reported today, HPA is currently taking samples from school children who are direct contacts of one of the kids who had tested positive to Covid-19 today.
