President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed two new members to the Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM).
The newly appointed members are Mohamed Zahid and Abdul Rahman Salah Rasheed.
These appointments are made under Article 168(b) of the Constitution of the Maldives and Section 4(a) of Act No. 8/2008, the Elections Commission Act, which outlines the establishment and function of the commission.
Prior to the formal appointment, the two members took their oath of office in a ceremony held at the President's Office. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice Hon Uz Mahaz Ali Zahir.
