The list of 4,000 flat recipients will be announced before the end of February, with plans to distribute the completed flats to eligible beneficiaries by September, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu revealed during the delivery of the Presidential Statement in Parliament.

The President emphasized that the government is committed to resolving the "sensitive issue" surrounding the flat distribution, including addressing concerns raised by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) regarding the eligibility list. The completion of the 4,000 flats under construction in Hulhumalé is a priority, with the government aiming to provide transparent and fair access to housing for eligible individuals.

The flat recipient list is expected to be made public before the upcoming Ramadan, according to the President. He underscored that the government's intention is not to take away any land or flat previously allocated to individuals. However, cases involving the submission of forged documents or violations of prescribed rules will be thoroughly investigated, and ineligible beneficiaries may face cancellations.

President Muizzu reassured the public that the ACC's investigations will not hinder the distribution process. The government's main objective is to finalize the list and hand over the flats to rightful beneficiaries without unnecessary delays. The President also highlighted the accelerated efforts to complete the flat construction and ensure a timely announcement.
