President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the “Judicial Year 2025” during a ceremony held at the Islamic Centre on Monday night.
The annual event serves as a platform to reflect on the judiciary's achievements over the past year and set objectives for the upcoming year.
The inauguration ceremony brought together judges and judicial sector employees, fostering discussions on judicial advancements and challenges. The event also featured the official recognition of a long-serving judge who retired with honour from the judiciary.
During the ceremony, Chief Justice of the Maldives, Uz Ahmed Muthasim Adnan, delivered the Judicial Statement, outlining key judicial developments and future strategies to enhance the justice system in the country.
Over the past eight years, the Judicial Year has been marked with special events, with 2021 being the only exception. Continuing this tradition, a national-level symposium titled the “Judicial Symposium” will be held this year. The symposium will focus on Islamic financing and harmonizing judicial and administrative practices in Maldivian courts.
The Judicial Year inauguration remains a significant event in strengthening the judiciary, ensuring accountability, and reinforcing the principles of justice in the Maldives.
