President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Saturday extended his greetings to police officers and their families on the 92nd anniversary of the Maldives Police Service (MPS).
The President conveyed his message through a post on his official X account, acknowledging the dedication and commitment of the police in carrying out their national duties.
In his message, President Muizzu praised the Maldives Police Service for its relentless efforts in ensuring public safety and maintaining law and order. He reiterated his administration's commitment to strengthening police services across the country.
Since taking office, the government has established approximately 28 police posts on various islands. Additionally, on March 27, 2025, contracts were signed to construct new police stations, with ongoing projects to build police facilities on 83 islands. The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) is overseeing construction on 21 islands, the Road Development Corporation (RDC) on another 21, and Fenaka Corporation Limited on 41 islands.
Efforts are also underway to enhance the technical and academic skills of police officers, along with initiatives to strengthen resources and improve overall operational capabilities.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held on Friday night to commemorate the milestone of the Maldives Police Service.
