President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has praised the Maldives Police Service (MPS) for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining law and order, emphasizing their vital role in national security. His remarks came in an address marking the 92nd anniversary of the police service.

The President highlighted that even before the formal establishment of the MPS on March 29, 1933, officials had been assigned to ensure public safety, prevent crime, and enforce regulations. He acknowledged that policing has remained a crucial service throughout the country’s history, continuously protecting the nation and its people.

President Muizzu commended police officers for their unwavering commitment, noting that they have faced numerous challenges while upholding their duties. He also recognized their successes in safeguarding lives and property through their training and expertise, contributing significantly to crime prevention and overall public safety.

Reaffirming the government’s support for law enforcement, the President stressed that police officers remain steadfast in their responsibilities, regardless of the difficulties or demands placed upon them.

He further paid tribute to all police personnel who have served the nation over the past 92 years, honoring those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
