The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has released the names of 21 individuals and businesses that have failed to pay their taxes despite being given the opportunity to settle their dues in installments.
The list, published in the government gazette, includes only those who owe more than MVR 50,000 in unpaid taxes and penalties. Among the entities named are Solonex Maldives, Gau Pan Maldives, Dhiffushi Water Sports, and Mitaz Private Limited.
According to MIRA, the outstanding amounts include not only unpaid taxes but also fines and penalties linked to various court cases. While some individuals and businesses have faced difficulties in making payments, the tax authority has previously provided options to clear the dues in installments.
The move comes as part of MIRA’s efforts to enhance tax compliance and recover outstanding revenues owed to the state.
