Amjad Mustafa has been appointed as the new Chief Judicial Administrator of the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).

With an extensive background in public service, Mustafa has previously served as the President of the Employment Tribunal, Vice-President of the Election Commission, and a Board Director of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).

The Chief Judicial Administrator role, appointed for a five-year term, positions Mustafa as the chief administrative officer of the judiciary. His monthly salary will be MVR 47,500.

The DJA opened nominations for this position on September 17 last year, following the resignation of former Chief Judicial Administrator Aishath Rizna on September 5, amid an investigation by the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) into her cases.
