Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the Maldives following a meeting with Maldivian Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer at the Presidential Secretariat.
In a post shared on social media, President Dissanayake expressed gratitude for Minister Zameer’s congratulatory remarks on his electoral victory and the ongoing positive developments in Sri Lanka. He emphasized the shared vision of fostering closer diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations for mutual prosperity.
Discussions during the meeting centered on key areas of cooperation, including trade, investment, tourism, and regional security. Minister Zameer extended greetings from Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and reiterated the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening its longstanding partnership with Sri Lanka.
The Maldivian delegation included Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, Maldivian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Masood Imad, and Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aminath Abdullah Didi.
