President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing comfort and relief to the Maldivian people during Ramadan through acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity.
In his annual Ramadan address, President Muizzu extended warm greetings to all Maldivians, emphasizing that his administration remains committed to accelerating efforts to ensure housing opportunities, fulfill the needs of the people, and enhance overall happiness.
Encouraging positive transformation during the holy month, the President called on everyone to embrace Ramadan as an opportunity for self-improvement and stronger relationships. He highlighted the importance of setting a good example for children and youth by instilling virtuous values. He urged people to take the first step toward personal growth by avoiding self-harm and unhealthy habits, such as smoking, as well as refraining from spreading falsehoods and deceit.
Reflecting on the spiritual significance of Ramadan, President Muizzu described it as a season of immense blessings, during which the Holy Quran was revealed and the highest reward of Laylat-ul-Qadr is bestowed. He emphasized that fasting, worship, and extending patience and compassion to others serve as profound spiritual and personal enlightenments.
The President further noted that Ramadan is a reminder of the inseparable link between national security and the country’s Islamic faith. He urged the people to pray for the entire Islamic Ummah, particularly those facing hardships. He also called on Maldivians to support Palestinians and other Muslim communities suffering from war, violence, and famine.
President Muizzu concluded his address with prayers for the Maldives to continue receiving prosperity and blessings in every Ramadan, for the nation to remain steadfast in its Islamic faith, and for the people to lead virtuous and successful lives.
