The Covid-19 positive cases reported from Addu City has reached 49 in total.
As per the recent statistics released by the Addu Emergency Operation Center, there are currently two Covid-19 clusters in Addu City. Out of which, the Aviation cluster has reached 22 positive cases while the Hulhumeedhoo cluster has reached 26 positive cases.
In addition to this, a person who is in home quarantine in Addu City has tested positive to Covid-19 as well.
The first person who tested positive from the Aviation cluster was two employees from Maldivian, who participated in a training conducted by the Aviation Command. Following this, 46 participants from the training were tested to Covid-19 as well. As per Addu Emergency Operation Center, currently there are 263 people identified as direct contact to the Aviation cluster positive cases.
With increase in positive cases from Addu City, the city has been placed under monitoring and the restriction measures have been strengthened with curfew, mandatory wearing masks and mass gatherings held on pause.
