The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) is working to address its debt issues through discussions with government companies, according to Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu.
Speaking at FAM's extraordinary congress, Rafiu stated that ongoing negotiations would enable FAM to settle its financial obligations. However, he did not disclose the total amount owed or the number of companies involved.
Minister Rafiu affirmed the government's support, including providing office space for FAM at the national stadium and utilizing ministry staff to assist with tournaments. He also highlighted efforts to facilitate the national teams’ participation in international competitions.
