Former President Al-Ustaz Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has expressed his support for the Liverpool–Visit Maldives tourism promotion campaign, which is set to be launched at Anfield.
Taking to X, President Maumoon shared his excitement over the initiative, stating that as a longtime supporter of Liverpool FC since the 1970s, he was deeply moved by the campaign’s launch. He also extended his gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for spearheading the project.
The Liverpool–Visit Maldives campaign is a collaborative effort between Liverpool Football Club (LFC) and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)/Visit Maldives. The initiative aims to enhance the global visibility of the Maldives as a premier travel destination.
MMPRC first announced the partnership on March 13, appointing the Maldives as the “Official Tourist Destination Partner” of Liverpool FC. The campaign is expected to expand the reach of Maldivian tourism and attract more visitors to the country.
