President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has expressed his strong desire to work closely with the Government of Saudi Arabia to further strengthen the longstanding bilateral ties between the two nations.

He made the remarks during a farewell courtesy call paid by the outgoing Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives, based in Dhaka, His Excellency Matrek bin Abdullah Al-Ajalin Al-Dosari, at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, President Muizzu thanked Ambassador Al-Dosari for his efforts in enhancing the Maldives–Saudi Arabia relationship throughout his tenure. The President noted that relations between the two countries had grown stronger during this period and conveyed his best wishes to the Ambassador for his future endeavors.

President Muizzu also expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Saudi government during his official visit to Saudi Arabia in May this year. He stated that the visit had been a significant step in reaffirming the friendship between the two nations.

Both the President and Ambassador Al-Dosari reiterated their commitment to further expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic development, investment, and religious affairs.

The meeting ended with a shared hope that the Maldives–Saudi Arabia partnership will continue to flourish in the years ahead.
