The Muli Island Council has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, marking the opening of Muli Airport as the end of a 30-year wait for the island’s residents.

The Council's appreciation was conveyed during a meeting held this afternoon at the Meemu Atoll Council Secretariat, where President Muizzu met with members of the Muli Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and local leaders.

Council members thanked the President for turning a long-standing dream into reality and took the opportunity to raise additional development priorities. These included the need for air-conditioning in school classrooms, local rehabilitation services, and increased focus on human resource development through training programs.

They also requested support for a dedicated picnic island and highlighted needs in tourism, healthcare, and sports infrastructure.

President Muizzu assured the community of his commitment to addressing these concerns and, alongside Ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises at the meeting, shared updates on ongoing projects to further Muli’s development.
