President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the construction of a new building for the Muli Regional Hospital, marking a key step in strengthening healthcare services in Mulaku Atoll.
The launch ceremony was held today on Muli Island, where the President reaffirmed his commitment to fast-tracking the project to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region.
The new four-storey hospital will feature expanded, modern facilities equipped with advanced medical technology. Once completed, it is expected to significantly improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for residents across the atoll.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted to carry out the construction, which is scheduled for completion within 780 days — by mid-2027.
This initiative is part of the Government’s broader strategy to modernize the country’s healthcare infrastructure and enhance the wellbeing of citizens across all islands.
