Maldives' newly appointed Ambassador to the European Union, Geela Ali, has officially presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
The ceremony took place Tuesday evening at the Berlaymont building, the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels.
Following the presentation, Ambassador Geela conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to strengthening ties with the EU.
President von der Leyen congratulated Ambassador Geela on her appointment and welcomed the continued positive momentum in Maldives-EU relations.
