President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged the public to celebrate Eid in a manner that aligns with Islamic principles.

He made the remarks during the latest episode of the Rayyithunnaa Eku podcast, a platform broadcast by the President’s Office to engage directly with the public.

Responding to a question on the podcast, the President emphasized the importance of avoiding celebrations that conflict with religious values. He acknowledged that while celebration is indeed part of Islam, it should be observed within the boundaries set by the religion.

The President encouraged people to enjoy both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha with their families and friends, highlighting the significance of these days in the Islamic calendar.

He noted that there are only two Eids in Islam and that no other celebration should be held in greater esteem, reiterating the spiritual and communal importance of these occasions.

The President’s remarks come ahead of the upcoming Eid holidays, as part of broader efforts to promote cultural observance in harmony with Islamic teachings.
