The Covid-19 positive cases reported from Addu City have reached 91 in total.
Addu Emergency Operation Center has reported two additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours. As per statistics, Addu City has 35 active cases, and a total of 56 infected people have already recovered.
So far, 3,211 Covid-19 test samples have been taken in Addu City and there are 472 people identified as direct contact to positive cases. In addition to this, there are 04 patients admitted to hospitals, and 206 buildings/homes have been quarantined.
There are currently two Covid-19 clusters in Addu City. Out of which, the first person who tested positive from the Aviation cluster was two employees from Maldivian, who participated in a training conducted by the Aviation Command. Following this, 46 participants from the training were tested to Covid-19 as well.
With the increase in positive cases from Addu City, the city has been placed under monitoring and the restriction measures have been strengthened with a curfew, mandatory wearing masks, and mass gatherings held on pause.
