A total of 111,415 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 75,163 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 2,291 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
HPA has also stated that so far 36,252 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 3,632 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
As per the recent statistics, 5,923 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours.
The vaccine rollout program kicked off on February 01, with the Covishield vaccine donated by the Indian government. So far, India has donated 200,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine.
In addition, Maldives has also received 5,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China. China has pledged to donate 100,000 doses of the same vaccine to the Maldives.
Maldives is also expected to receive Covid-19 vaccines from the COVAX facility.
