Former Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz has expressed sorrow over civilian casualties in Iran and Gaza, acknowledging the human toll of the ongoing regional violence.

“I’m very sorry for every Iranian civilian that was killed, just as I’m very sorry for every citizen in Gaza who is being killed,” Gantz said, according to Al Arabiya English.

His remarks come amid continued Israeli military operations in Gaza and recent tensions with Iran. Gantz is among the few high-ranking Israeli officials to publicly express regret for civilian deaths on both sides, in a conflict that has drawn widespread international concern.
