President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong witnessed the signing of three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the Maldives and Singapore on Monday, aimed at deepening cooperation across key sectors.

The signing ceremony was held at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of President Dr Muizzu’s ongoing state visit marking 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The agreements include:

1. An MoU on **Capacity Building Cooperation** between the two governments.
2. An MoU between the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism and Environment and Singapore’s Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment.
3. An MoU between Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education and the Maldives’ Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development to collaborate on higher education, technical and vocational training, policy, and research.

The MoUs reflect a shared commitment to expanding collaboration in education, sustainability, and institutional development.
