A total of 123,665 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), 79,356 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 2,105 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

HPA has also stated that so far 44,309 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region. Out of this, 4,445 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.

As per the recent statistics, 6,550 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the last 24 hours.

The vaccine rollout program kicked off on February 01, with the Covishield vaccine donated by the Indian government. So far, India has donated 200,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine.

In addition, Maldives has also received 5,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China. China has pledged to donate 100,000 doses of the same vaccine to the Maldives.

Maldives is also expected to receive Covid-19 vaccines from the COVAX facility.
