U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that discussions are ongoing regarding the conflict in Gaza and expressed hope for progress in the coming week, even as ceasefire negotiations in Doha remain stalled.
“Gaza — we are talking and hopefully we’re going to get that straightened out over the next week,” Trump told reporters, repeating the optimism he shared on July 4.
Despite his remarks, talks between Israel and Hamas mediated in Doha have yet to yield a breakthrough.
