President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has announced that all eligible applicants under this year’s higher education loan programme will receive financial support, in a move aimed at expanding access to tertiary education in the Maldives and overseas.

The President made the announcement today via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that he has instructed the relevant ministries to issue loans to every student who meets the programme’s criteria.

A total of 806 students have been confirmed as eligible under the scheme. With this directive, they will now receive financial assistance to pursue their studies, whether at institutions within the Maldives or abroad.

President Muizzu reaffirmed that broadening and strengthening access to higher education remains a key priority for his Administration, underscoring the Government’s commitment to investing in the nation’s future through education and skill development.
