The Sri Lankan government has decided to issue one-year medical visas to Maldivian citizens living in Sri Lanka, as well as spouse visas for those married to Sri Lankan nationals or seeking medical treatment in the country, effective from August 1, 2025.
This move aims to ease visa challenges faced by Maldivians residing in or travelling to Sri Lanka for healthcare and family reasons, the Maldivian Foreign Ministry said in a statement announcing the decision.
Applicants are advised to carefully complete all required documents, especially those related to security clearance, as any issues may result in visa denial or cancellation.
