President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to end exclusionary policies and adopt a citizen-centric approach to advance national development goals.

Speaking to residents during his ongoing tour of Baa Atoll, the President acknowledged that Kamadhoo Island had faced neglect in the past and emphasized his determination to change this.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusivity and delivering tangible results, particularly in health, education, and sports. Work on the promised football grounds will continue, he confirmed.

Highlighting the island’s strong local tourism, President Muizzu pledged to incorporate resident feedback into road construction plans, address land erosion sustainably, and proceed with the harbour project.

During the visit, two major agreements were signed: a new school facility contract between Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu and Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation, and a seaplane service agreement between Island Aviation Services and Hawks Hotel. The President noted the school would address educational needs, while seaplane operations would boost the local economy.

The President’s four-day tour of Baa Atoll began Monday, with visits planned to 13 inhabited islands alongside Cabinet ministers and government agency heads.
