President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has ratified the First Amendment to the Attorney General’s Office Act (Act No. 8/2025).
The amendment, passed at the 24th sitting of the second session of the 20th People’s Majlis on 12 August 2025, aims to review the duties of the Attorney General’s Office, clearly define the role of its legal counsel, and revise provisions related to employee pay and benefits.
Following ratification, the amendment was published in the Government Gazette and has now come into effect.
