MDP Chairman Fayyaz Ismail has criticized the government for dismissing a MACL employee over a social media post critical of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
In a statement shared online, Fayyaz called the move a “big mistake,” saying the government’s actions—making false accusations and costing a youth their job—reflect an injustice that has reached its limit.
Fayyaz emphasized that “job fears cannot be restored and a dictatorship cannot be established,” adding that ideas and thoughts cannot be locked.
Additionally, following MP Falaah’s remarks suggesting the execution of journalists, the Sports Ministry Senior Political Director Ibrahim Saeed (Cade) was also dismissed for speaking out against them.
