Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Sunday that the war in Gaza could come to an end if hostages were released and Hamas agreed to lay down its weapons.

Speaking at a press conference in Jerusalem alongside his Danish counterpart, Saar outlined Israel’s conditions for halting the conflict. His remarks followed a statement from Hamas a day earlier, in which the group reiterated its position that it would release all hostages if Israel ended the war and withdrew its forces from Gaza City.

The exchange highlights the deep impasse between the two sides as the war continues, with Israel demanding disarmament and Hamas insisting on a full military withdrawal.
