The Criminal Court has released all six individuals arrested during the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) protest held on October 3.
Among those arrested were former MP Yasir Abdul Latheef, former MP Yousuf Abdulla, and Maafushi Council President Hassan Solah. They were detained on charges of obstructing police duties during the protest.
The court had earlier remanded them in custody for 15 days. However, during today’s hearing to extend their remand, the court ordered their release on the condition that they cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the MDP has announced plans to hold another rally in the capital on November 17.
