Former MP and lawyer Ali Hussain has said that it is the responsibility of the government and the President to lead the people in the right direction.
In a post shared on X, Ali Hussain said this after President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu remarked that while corruption exists in every country, it can only be eradicated through collective will. Ali Hussain said that although corruption is widespread globally, meaningful reform requires everyone’s participation.
He added that people generally follow their leaders, placing a greater responsibility on those in power to set the right example. Ali Hussain noted that citizens tend to align with their leaders' direction, underscoring the need for responsible, principled governance.
