March 19th, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 145 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 104 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 41 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 14 people are positive from operational resorts and 21 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 22,292 cases, including 2,447 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 598,676 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 4,460 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 131 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 19,773.

According to HPA, there are 120 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 65 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

As per the recent statistics, 218,046 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to HPA, 449 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region, in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, vaccination of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the greater Male’ region is currently on halt.
