The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has placed Faafu atoll Nilandhoo island under monitoring upon the detection of the Covid-19 case.
F. Nilandhoo island was placed under monitoring as a sample from an asymptomatic person on home quarantine was tested positive. As per the information received the person who tested positive to Covid-19 met another person against the quarantine rules. HPA has stated that the initial positive person has direct contacts who are symptomatic.
With the monitoring status, HPA has restricted travel to and from the island. Nilandhoo island is currently placed under monitoring for contact tracing and case investigation.
In addition to Nilandhoo island, R. Ungoofaaru island, and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo island is also under monitoring status.
