President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has established the Maldives National Anti-Doping Agency under the authority granted by Article 116(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.
The agency was formed in accordance with Section 38(a) of the Maldives Sports Act, which provides for the creation of a national anti-doping body. The decision was formally communicated today through Presidential Directive No. 5/2026.
According to the directive, the Maldives National Anti-Doping Agency will be governed by an independent board responsible for implementing and overseeing anti-doping measures across the country.
The establishment of the agency follows the ratification of the First Amendment to the Maldives Sports Act on 19 May 2025 and is aimed at ensuring fair play and integrity within the Maldives’ sporting sector.
The directive also assigns the number 1138 for official correspondence with the agency.
