March 22, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 149 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 120 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 29 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 18 people are positive from operational resorts and 04 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 22,662 cases, including 2,447 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 612,223 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 3,957 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 138 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 20,142.

According to HPA, there are 90 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 66 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

As per the recent statistics, 220,768 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to HPA, 259 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region, and 1,856 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from the greater Male’ region, in the last 24 hours.

HPA has resumed vaccination of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the greater Male’ region today, with Sinopharm vaccine.
