March 24, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 139 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 89 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 50 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 19 people are positive from operational resorts and 31 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 22,929 cases, including 2,497 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 623,614 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 6,659 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 133 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 20,359.

According to HPA, there are 103 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 66 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

As per the recent statistics, 224,979 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to HPA, 802 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region, and 1,207 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from the greater Male’ region, in the last 24 hours.

HPA has resumed vaccination of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the greater Male’ region with the Sinopharm vaccine.
