MTCC has contracted Gulf Craft Maldives to design and build 17 speed ferries under the Integrated National Public Ferry Network Project
During a special ceremony held today, the contract was signed by CEO Adam Azim on behalf of MTCC and on behalf of Gulf Craft Maldives, Chairman Mr. Mohammed Hussain Alshaali signed.
The newly built ferries would be equipped to achieve thrice the speed of the ferries currently being used and would accommodate 50 passengers. The high speed ferries will be designed in such a way that will be convenient for all passengers including differently abled people to board the vessel.
MTCC has already initiated the establishment of ferry terminals for the integrated national public ferry network with the groundbreaking of the first ferry terminal at Ha. Hoarafushi. The integrated national public ferry network will introduce reliable, efficient, affordable, convenient, and sustainable passenger ferry service to our customers.
