April 18, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 203 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 115 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 88 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 18 people are positive from operational resorts, and 70 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 26,348 cases, including 2,678 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,238 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 109 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 23,591.

According to HPA, there are 60 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 69 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 279,302 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 40,230 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
