April 19, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 157 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 71 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 86 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 12 people are positive from operational resorts, and 72 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 26,505 cases, including 2,735 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 3,122 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 100 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 23,691.

According to HPA, there are 68 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 70 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

In addition to this, a total of 281,848 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of which, 45,817 people have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
